Amrita Mehta is New York/Los Angeles based makeup artist who like many of us, first discovered the joys of makeup on YouTube. But unlike most, the Bay Area-born, South Asian biology grad decided to pursue it as a career and didn’t back down.* After moving to New York, She honed her skills while assisting some of the industries top makeup artists including Kabuki, Pat McGrath, and Patrick Ta. Her clients now include leading brands such as: Maybelline, Versace, About Face, and Nike; public figures like Raveena Aurora, Amber Mark, Rami Malek etc.; and publications such as Allure, GQ, Vogue India, and Office Magazine.
Describing her work as “pretty with a twist”, Amrita blurs the line between glam and weird – taking a classic look and throwing a more modern, experimental element at it.* Though she enjoys playing with color, Amrita’s ability to perfect the skin and create radiant complexions for all skin tones and types is always apparent, regardless of whether it’s a commercial shoot, performance, or an editorial. Her innovative and versatile approach to beauty sets her apart from the rest and always keeps you guessing.
